Is Sirius radio free for 6 months?

It was in May. About the same time Mercurey was 3 years free. But I think they change regularly.
I called a few months into mine and upgraded to lifetime for around $400.

The Moonroof/Sirius combo on my '08 FEH ordered in May came with 6 months free. I just added another 18 months yesterday for ~$190
Wife loves the NPR and I like the comedy channels. Together we like to play name that tune using the text button to block/reveal the title/artist.

Yeah, I love sat radio. We've only used the AM/FM or the CD changer a few times. Lifetime for $399 is good deal but I tend to swap cars so I went with 18 after the free 6 months.
The subscription pricing seemed odd. They seem to discourage longer subscriptions by making them more expensive than the short subscriptions. Adding 6 additional months is less than $10 per month, adding 18 was over $10 and so on. I thought that it would be cheaper for longer subscriptions, not more expensive.
Maybe they hope you go month-to-month at $12.95 per month sooner rather than later.

Re: Is Sirius radio free for 6 months?
At the time I purchased (July) my MMH it was 6 months free. It was already activated when I took delivery (Sept).
Looks like there is a current promo to get 15% off:
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthr...d=260&t=669644
(Use coupon code: UPGRADE15 for 15% off! )
Not sure if this will apply to subscriptions or just merchandise.
The lifetime $499 sometimes seem to be discounted by $100.
(I'm still on my free period so I have not looked into this much)
I think that works out to keeping the system over 4 years to make & beat the $10 a month rate.
If & when the merger with XM happens, don't know if this (lifetime) would apply to the XM side also.
My guess is unless our current nav units can be upgraded by a new software load to also accept XM (it the hardware can receive the signal) or they dual-broadcast over each network, you would need to get a XM unit & plug in through the AUX / MP3 jack.

For the 08's the PIE adapter may not be applicable. Also see the post by jwhimes about needing a new unit to receive both systems based on a news article.

The offers for car/truck owners are slightly different than regular Sirius offers. They send out two or three mailings but the offers in them are essentially the same.
You can buy at any point before the free 6 month subscription expires. There's no need to wait if you already know you want to continue the subscription and would prefer to pay for it now and get it over with. No matter when you buy, it doesn't start until the free months expire.
Activation is only by phone and is a different phone number than the regular Sirius call-in number. Like GM has with XM, the program is between the provider and the vehicle manufacturer and has some unique aspects.

Not knowing what their programming would be, but all I think of is the music/sound track from a bad porno movie non-stop.
