Default Sale Price for 2006?

I would like to hear from those that have shopped for, or purchased a 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid. I would guess that no one is paying a premium above MSRP still for the remaining 2005s but I am wondering how the bargaining is starting out for the 2006s.

Please tell us also what part of the country you are in.

I am also interested in trying to find someone who has ordered a 2006 Lincoln Mercury Hybrid Mariner.

I have gotten ahold of a newer edition of the 2006 FEH Ordering Guide and I still have copies of the price guide. Just send me an email.

I contacted a dealer about a 2006 FEH and he said "we aren't discounting" that model. But, "we'd match any price you get." But he wouldn't give me a price. Sheesh.

Ford has got a "Sale" on right now that gives everyone the A plan price, but I think it is excluding the FEH, Mustang, GT and commercial trucks. So it dosen't supprise me that your dealer would not offer a discount. Ford is not offering the dealers any discount, so anything they give you comes from their pocket.

I bought an '06 FEH and got mine for $850 under MSRP with some (I think) really good negotiating on my part. The vehicle is in high demand, though, down here. Someone else actually wound up test driving mine while we were signing the paperwork and then ordered one at MSRP.

MSRP on my model (base, FWD, plus AC outlet and cargo cover) was $27,795. I live in Atlanta, GA.

Thanks xpl0re. By giving an indication of where you live, the price you paid, what you did to negotiate, and your dealer's name you give invaluable information to hundreds, perhaps thousands of people searching.

Thank you for the contribution.

I have been back and forth with my local dealer (Crossroads Ford, Cary NC) for a few days now. A plan and X plan are not accepted. At first they informed me that X plan was available, then when they trying to pull up the X price with my PIN #, it came back it was not available.

My dealer did however say they would work with me, but will not quote me a direct price. They currently have about 20 Hybrids in stock, including the exact one I want, but I'm not telling them that.

As I've said before, I got my '06 FEH June 1, (Actually ordered an '05, but ended up being at the front of the line for the '06) from Russ Milne in Michigan. I paid a little over 28K for the AWD, pretty much fully loaded (As I recall, Everything but leather and appearance package), but with the A plan discount. (No dealer markup.)

Excellent work, xpl0re. Can I hire you to negotiate my next contract??

From my observations of comments on various message boards, most FEH buyers can order at MSRP. Quite a few pay a mark-up. There are some discounts for remaining '05's, but anything between invoice and MSRP for an '06 is very rare.

haha...thanks! The dealer had 3 hybrids on the lot at one point and sold them in 3 days. He wound up telling me that he was sick of test driving them because there was so much interest in them. Used that against him to convince him to sell it to me cheaper.

They wouldn't give me anything for my trade-in '97 Explorer Sport though so I'm selling it privately now. Anybody wanna buy an explorer?
