THAT made my day right there! hahahahaha! Silly Wabbitt, Hybrid owners don't do that, it would take time away from doing spreadsheets of cost analysis.

I'm sorry... but this is one of the sillyest things I've ever seen.
Was that something that was kicked off of "American Inventor" TV show, but they built it anyway?

From a technical side, I think the FEH could easily handle the empty weight while you were driving it somewhere, but not the weight of people inside on top. Are they serious about LIVING on top of your car/SUV?
This seems silly, not to mention dangerous. I can easily picture the thing slipping off with people inside... short of welding it to the car. I would never ever trust such a mikey mouse design, and so I would never sleep.

Now, if it is used as a cool, quick, pop-up tent used on the GROUND once you get were you are going, I say go for it. I would love a tent with a floor, as there is alway that one rock that gets to you in a standard tent.
So this could still be very useful used in a more traditional sense.

Actually, when I was on Safari in Kenya, i saw a couple of these on top of land cruisers. they're quite sturdy and not mickey-mousey at all.

If you're worried about bears, a bear could have a lot of fun with humans in a nice container like that. Buffet!

I'm not afraid of heights, but I'd hate to roll out of bed from the height of my Escape Hybrid's roofline...ouch.

Edited To Add:
Of course, I manage to turn ordinary things into medical emergencies... I severed my ACL while carrying laundry downstairs (missed a step and landed wrong, *SNAP*). I have three nice long Ti (titanium) screws in my left leg now, and I stand by my assertion that doing laundry is hazardous to your health...so why risk it? <grin> Yeah...it didn't work on my husband, either, except for the 3 months I rehabbed the knee after ACL reconstruction.

Bah, even hybrid owners get freaky now and then and make little baby future plug-in and solar flying car owners (I can dream, about the flying car, shush!)
