Rear differential must not hold 2.96 pints!
Has anyone else noticed this?
I just had to pull the cover when all I could siphon was less than 1 quarts[it was nasty, too]...and there was no more in there...the fill plug had oil spilling out after I took it out-so I think it was full! gotta go get silicone and brakekleen, we'll see how much it takes to fill later

Saved trip to the store, cleaned with intake/carb spray and sealed with old tube silicone. thus , let dry a day.
1 pint must be trapped in front of the open differential. saw no way to drain. so much for clean new Mobile 1.
funny I could find no post on this after a pretty exhaustive search and didn't remember lockup(whatever), it's pretty tight under there on the ground

You're good. As mentioned, the grape juice is 75W-90. Just an FYI, a good synthetic 80W-90 meets the same specs as a 75. Ours does. We make an 80-90 to satisfy those who insist on having those numbers on the bottle, but it meets the specs of a 75-90
Again ; have you changed a rear end fluid like mine? Which is the subject of this post? my old, black oil was like 30w and now your trying to convince me it will break......

I'm not trying to convince of anything but to follow the specs listed in your owner's manual and use the proper lubricant. Does the lube have the Ford Spec listed in the Owner's Manual on its label?
