Default Question on Cruise Control Buttons

We bought our 2006 Hybrid used. Is the cruise control buttons on the the steering wheel suposed to be illuminated at night? They did on our 1995 Explorer but do not on the Escape.

2008 FEH, Job 1 (no audio buttons), cruise buttons ARE back-lit.

Window control and power lock buttons ARE NOT lit at all.

Not illuminated on my 2007, though your fingers learn them pretty fast.

CC, not lit.

Fun Fact:
The power window buttons are lit in all 4 positions.
If the driver "locks out" the power windows from the driver's side, the lights go off in the other 3 positions. ( at least in 2005 they do )

John,
I have never even looked at that but am going to take a look at my 09 tonight to see if that is true on my vehicle as well.
Thanks!

John, I hadn't noticed that before, but my '07 does the same. Funny the little things you miss. I also noticed the power door lock button on the passenger door remains lit at all times too... safety I guess.

Just my two cents,

-Tony

Fun Fact #2:

If the car is "off" ( not "started" ) and you turn the key with the gear selector out of park, nothing happens. The moment the gear select is placed into park, the car starts without an additional key turn.

It "remembers" you wanted the car started. The key is not an ignition switch as in traditional cars. It is only a signal to the computer.
