Default Question about MPG in new FEH 4WD

I just bought a 2008 FEH 4WD 10 days ago and have 324 miles on it. Up untilL today. The MPG were gradually increasing to 24 miles per gallon were it stayed for the past few days, then all of a sudden it showed 41 miles per gallon I thought I was reading it wrong but it varied 38 to 41 MPG. Then gradually it went down to 34 miles per gallon. Is this normal?

That sounds peculiar, did you do anything different, such as hit the reset button, or do a lot of downhill or EV driving?

I did some downhill driving. But I don't think I touched the reset buttton since I don't know where it is.

Not sure where it is in the '08's but on ours if you push and hold the "SET" button it will reset the average.

Best thing to do is not even worry about mileage until you get it broken in. But, early on you mileage will fluctuate wildly. Perfectly normal and it will stabilize as you get used to the car and as it gets broken in.

After resetting the average, or when the car is new, it will also fluctuate. Until you get a t least a few hours of driving time on it, it doesn't have much data to calculate an average and one quick acceleration or a mile or 2 in EV will skew the average one way or the other. It will probably stabilize in the low 30's, depending on your driving habits.
