Default po128 code

I had a po128 code the other night. It was erased and now it won't come back. I have a long trip ahead and was wondering what the opinion is regarding just going ahead with thermostat replacement..I found out this is covered by warranty, but the code is gone. can dealer check thermostat cheaply?
Also the vehicle is 2005 escape hybrid with 136,000 miles on it
Thanks for any help

If you are capable, just change the thermostat. Probably cheaper than the deductible on the warranty.

My '06 is still under warranty and last time it was at the dealer for other warranty work (blend door), I asked the dealer to check it because it isn't getting to full temp. He claimed they checked all the PID's and since there was no code shown, they wouldn't change the t-stat unless I paid for it. Charged me a half hour diagnostic. Then he had the nerve to imply that there was no way I could tell that it wasn't getting to full temp....this was AFTER I brought the car in telling him I need the blend door because I pulled the codes.

Thanks
I don't know if there is a deductible..it's under the 10yr 150,000 warranty from Ford
I'm thinkin after the diagnostics etc that it might be cheaper to just go for replacing the thermostat.
Also I drove it about a half an hour in city traffic yesterday no code, but it never went into ev mode
Thanks again
Any further thoughts?

What 10 year/150 k mile warranty are you referring to? It is NOT covered by the hybrid parts warranty.
