Paint Issues on 2006 FEH
Howdy:
Does anyone else who has an 06 FEH with the premium package have an issue where the paint on the front side of the rear wheel and surrounding door and rocker board area is becoming pitted from road debris?
I took deliery 1/2/06 and immediately installed mudflaps designed for the escape body shape. I only drive on the highway and what I've noticed is steadily over the last 3 mths, that those areas are turning white as the red paint is chipping away. Right now those areas look as bad after 3 mths as the front of my black WRX did after 4 years.
I was wondering if anyone else might have this problem and if anyone has heard anything from Ford on a possible fix.
Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Paint Issues on 2006 FEH
Have you had any problems with the front bumper? I am considering silver with the appearance package and am concerned that the painted cladding will show alot of stone chips etc. Anyone else have have any issues with the painted bumpers/cladding? Thanks!

I have a 2006 and also have the premium. Mines Red. I've had it for a month...
Here is whats interesting. I did find one stone peck... but the plastic underneath is not white..... Its black for me.
Is it all the way through or maybe just to the primer on yours. If so that might mean there is a problem with the paint job in that the paint isn't adhered to the white/grey primer very well.
I'm guessing here.
