Plug In hybrid, 40.000 miles, Suddenly Brakes did not work, Multiple error messages, Towed in, had to Clear codes and retest due to "high network traffic" Now they tell me to not take it out of town until I'm sure it won't happen again, Can't tell me how to avoid or if it is common.... anyone had this issue?

 

There are a number of brake related posts on this forum including a recent one from me. In my case, a good used part was installed and it has been working normally for months so the part was the issue. A vehicle scan may pinpoint the issue better but you would have to DIY with a common reader like FORSCAN or take it into a mechanic to review. As the vehicles age, more numerous and diverse issues are beginning to pop up but many of them are as old as 20 yrs by now and owe nothing to anyone.
