Default Michelin Energy LX4 tire

this link: http://www.michelinman.com/tires/pas...specifications

may reflect the new 2009 Escape Hybrid tire. The size would be 235/65/16.

Interesting. I wonder how those would work on our older models MPG wise?

OOPS! I made a slight mistake. This is the Michelin Energy Saving Tire I was referring to:

Michelin has come out with a line of new low rolling resistance tires but I'm not sure if they will be available for the any US vehicles in 2009. See this Michelin link fo more information: http://www.michelin.com/corporate/fr...112603&lang=EN

If we use them it will require some recalibration of the spedometer, scanguage and such.... 235/65/16 would be a differen't circumference than 235/70/16 wouldn't it? I'd think it would be smaller, so your spedometer would read higher than your actual speed....

You can check some websites for the difference in MPH read outs from different size tires. Here's one: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Based on this, the speedometer would read 2 MPH slower than you are acutally going with a change from 235/65/16 to 235/70/16.
