Default MG1 brake?

One of my diagrams shows a brake on the MG1. Could this be used to start the ICE when the vehicle is moving? Or does it exist?

It should exist, as many diagrams from many sources show this.
Yes, it could be used turn over the ICE when the car is already moving.
Slowing or stopping MG1 would force torque from spinning MG2 into the ICE.
It is possible, even likely this happens, just not 100% confirmed.
The other possibility would involve MG1 slowing or stopping itself, with the addition of battery current. Which sounds more plausible?

Well it would be "free" energy if it used the brake, but it might give an abrupt feel. Another question would be what would a MG1 brake be used for?
