We've found that cruise causes us to jump out of EV as it pulls the vehicle from stops or up minor slopes. Provided the surface is flat, go for cruise, but to get any distance in EV mode, you need to control the gas youself with a light touch to increase speed as needed. In the daytime we feel obliged to accelerate faster from a stop or up a small hill for the sake of others on the road behind us, so we're jumping between EV and ICE. But when the moon comes out, that's when we howl.

 

C&J, you can't use cruise under 30 MPH so it will not work at a stop or under 30. It must be resumed also at 30 MPH or more. I'm only talking about flat roads here, if I get to a hill it will kick the ICE on. The main reason I use the cruise is so my foot does'nt increase my speed and kick the ICE on by mistake. I have got to 35 MPH with the cruise on but a wind from a truck or something will also kick the ICE on at that speed.
