Interesting.... sickening?
Ya'all know by now I like to peruse eBay once in a while for "2008 escape"
Say this listing today for a salvaged 08, says it was a rollover. If that's true, it looks dang good! Sunroof still intact, impressive!
The sickening part, you see the odometer at like 468Mi!!!

Re: Interesting.... sickening?
Given the location (Brighton MI) I'd guess this was a slow speed rural road rollover in a deep dirt/grass ditch. In any event, the roof rigidity looks excellent. I always wondered what the side airbag deployment would do to the seats (don't want to try it). This looks like a great project car for someone who wants to do something completely different with a FEH chassis.

Re: Interesting.... sickening?
You are right Bill.
It looks to me like it was T-Bone'd and pushed over on it's side.
No actual "roll over" onto the roof.
It is "XLT" and not hybrid.
I was 'almost' interested in a parts car for $6500 or whatever.

Re: Interesting.... sickening?
I notice on both of these Escapes the moonroof is still in one piece even when the area above the windshield has been crushed.
I like how strong the roof/frame seems to be even with a piece of glass in the center.
On a mildly related note, I once wrecked a rental car (wasn't my fault) that had less than 200 miles on it... Good thing I got the rental insurance. Kinda funny to hand the keys back to the rental clerk and say, "I don't think you'll be renting that one out today..."

Re: Interesting.... sickening?
Last I knew... your own auto insurance covers that kind of damage in almost all cases. I was pretty srue the rental insurace they offer you at the rental counter is a scam because you are already covered as an insured driver.

Re: Interesting.... sickening?
That's the kicker... I didn't own a car at the time and thus had no personal insurance... I did get a call from the head office asking for my personal insurance information, I could hear the dissatisfaction when they realized there wasn't anyone to push this off on.
I kinda miss the days when I had mass transit readily available and only had to rent when I needed to. It was so much cheaper. This was all before Zip car. It would be even easier now.

Re: Interesting.... sickening?
There is a wrecked 07 Escape Hybrid awd (mere 4,000 km!) for sale in Quebec, Canada. Don't know the price, but here's the link: sorry don't know how to 'hot it' you''ll have to paste. If you want the dealer will email you photos, did for me.
