First how do you remove the cute plastic Hybrid cover?
Then I just assumed the plugs would be pop cable off, stick plug socket on, remove like this setup:

OK I'm in the same boat. I got a bit further though. A large springy thing was attached to the underside of the plastic cap. I assume the spark plug is down in there. Correct? If so how does one reattach the spring thing once the spark plug is removed and replaced? I'm like the other guy, used to the older cars.

Hi Everyone. First post and new owner with a 05 escape hybrid. Once I remove the 10mm bolt holding down the spark plug coils, is it just a matter of yanking up on the coil to get to the spark plug?. I don't want to tair the rubber boot. Thanks for the help!.

HELP!

Okay, so I was changing the OEM plugs to new Bosch Pt/Ir plugs and ws taking the far left coil/boot assembly off. The coil separated from the rubber boot--I tried replacing it and trying to get the boot to come out. No luck. And now the rubber boot is torn on the edge. I tried to pry it out with a blunt tool, but it seems more fastened on the bottom end, near the spark plug, than it is on the top end. Any ideas how to get it out? I have already ordered a new coil/boot assembly in case this one is torn up too much.

Also, does anyone add dialectric to the inside of the boot (the insulating part) or the ceramic sleeve & metal threads of the spark plug. I've been told to add dialectric grease to all those parts. Suggestions?
