Well since the transmission is bolted to the engine and the engine coolant / thermostat temperature is 185-190 all the time after the first 10 minutes of driving, mine and yours is nearly always at about 190 degrees F.

So I find it hard to believe any degradation occurs at these "mild" temperatures.

240 is not mild for a transmission, it's overheating
