I drive a 2008 Escape Hybrid 4W and with 74000kM in Canada.

I just noticed there has been a recall of the motor cooling pump, #14S19. I called Ford Canada and they advised me there is another recall #14S05 for the electrical power steering.

Yesterday I went to Yorkdale Ford and initially the advisor does not want to replace the pump because the old one is still working. I insist it is a safety issue and it must be replaced. Finally she agrees.

The electrical steering recall is just a program upgrade, according to her.

I have stabilizer bar links problem, vibration sound on local drive, so yesterday the MECS pump was replaced with new brushless pump for free, the power steering had been upgraded for free and I spend $300 after tax for replacing both stabilizer bar links.

I noticed that the electric mode increase after the pump had been replaced, I may get higher mileage, still watching the gas comsuption..
