Default FEH Tax Credit Update!

From my dealer today:

"As of June 30, 2008, Ford Motor Company has sold 55,990 Hybrid Vehicles (Escape and Mariner Hybrids)(in the tax credit window of 12/31/05 - 12/31/10). Based on sales pattern, it appears the 60,000 unit threshold will be reached within the 3rd quarter of 2008. If this is the case, purchasers of an Escape or Mariner Hybrid would be elgible for a full federal tax credit until December 31, 2008."

The full tax credit goes for six months after the quarter in which the 60K is reached. So if the threshold is reached in Q3, the full tax credit would go until the 2nd quarter of 2009.

If they reached 60K before Jul 1, then Dec 31 would be the last date...

The tax credit only extends to the first full quarter following the reaching the 60,000 threshhold.

Yup, my mistake, I was thinking of the 50% credit which extends for two quarters. Thanks for the update.
