Pedro,
I am in the LA area and very interested in your offer. Could you please contact me concerning the color and details of your Escape?
PS. do you recall if the two times your daughter was shocked were during Santa Ana winds?

Peter, Ford designed and built the car and its hybrid system. They got a bunch of patents on it. Any dealer who has a customer come in with a credible report of an electrocution hazard would have a direct line to the experts at Ford headquarters in Dearborn. What all this tells me is that they saw no credibility in your report. They could have handled it better, based on your description, no doubt.
LA is a bit far from Virginia, so I'll pass on the car. I'm glad you are sticking with a hybrid, and I hope the Prius turns out great for you.

Also, Pedro, Have you tried the static straps as has been suggested? If you've tried them & she is still getting shocked, then you have an issue & a leg to stand on with Ford. If you haven't tried to take the solution to your problem into your own hands, then you have no one to blame but yourself.
"Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't the FEH using the Toyota Hybrid Drive system?"
No. The Escape does use a (different) electronic continuously variable transmission from the same Japanese supplier as Toyota. There's a long literature on various types of hybrid vehicles. Ford has been involved from the start.
