Default cvt check plug

can someone tell me more about the FEH cvt ?
1. the owners manual explains about the plug behind the drivers tire, but I dont see it.
2. I also have been told that there is 150K miles before changing this oil? Is this true?
3. what kind of oil does it use?
4. how do you change it?

You won't see it unless the fender well access hole is removed.

The eCVT is more like a manual trans than an automatic. The fluid is lube only, I would use a synthetic fluid like mercon V there is a service bulletin from ford that says it OK to use mercon V, which is a synthetic. Yes the service interval is 150000 mi but I plan on changing mine at 60K. Remember the schedule is a MINIMUM.

Thanks guys.
Is this a DIY job or am I better off with the Dealer? Is there a CVT filter?

I don't know your comfort level but it is harder to do than an engine oil change, but less than a brake job. Its kinda like changing a manual trans mission fluid. Allot easier with a lift. There is no filter for the eCVT.

It looks like the drain plug is accessible, is it not as easy as draining and re-fill or does it require removing a pan?
thanks for the info.
