Default Costs to replace front wheel bearing

So I have had almost 50K trouble free miles and there has been a noise from my front passenger wheel well. I was suspecting wheel bearing and when it was in today for an oil change at my Indy shop he confirmed the bearing was shot. He wants about $275 for replacement and I'm curious if that is concurrent with what it should be.

This is a new shop I'm taking it to, but I dealt with the guy once in the past and it was a great experience and he comes fairly highly recommended. Just want to make sure we are in the right area, cost wise, for the repair.

I just paid $450. They replaced the assembly including the hub with lug studs. It is a $100 part retail, but they charged me $200 just for the part, which apparently is standard markup..

Thanks for the reply. Did you take it to the dealer or an indy shop?

In any case, I'd say the Escape chassis sucks. I've replace a right wheel bearing, right outer tie rod end, left inner tie rod end and am on set #4 of stabilizer links. All this in 57,000 miles.
