I don't like them because they don't have the traction, and they are so noisy. I put studs on for winter and they don't make much more noise than the originals. I have 4 in the shed with 16-K miles on that I wish you had.

I don't like them because they don't have the traction on a hard suface, and they are so noisy. I put studs on for winter, and they are not much louder than the originals. I have 4 in the shed that I wish you had.

The one comment I have about the EcoPlus is they stink in the snow!!!

I have a recently purchased 4WD 06 FEH with only 4,000 miles on it so the tires look like new. I live in upstate NY & the weather has been VERY cold, snowy & icy lately. I have lived in this area my whole life(I am 55 years old), I am in the car business & have driven on every kind of tire there is at one time or another

These have got to be the worst tires I have ever owned for driving in these conditions, they slip & slide all over the place & do not instill confidence at all. If these tires wore out tomorrow, I would definitely replace them with a proven all weather tread tire of another brand.

It must be you, or your particular weather.

In Colorado snow, ice, mud, snow/mud/slush combos, even on dirt "trails" with steep inclines ( like 10% ) I have NEVER been stuck or even had wheel slip with the stock tires.

The FEH has performed better in snow than any sedan I have ever owned.

I like 'em, personally.
( maybe 2x4 is better! )

I've never been stuck either(it's steering & stopping that is the problem), but it slips & slides all over the place.

My wife drives an X-Type Jaguar which is AWD & both of us have noticed how much better her tires handle this extreme Winter weather.

I don't seem to have any issues with my 4WD.... feels very secure with stock tires and stock tire pressure. Did last winter too. I've even tried to skid some (in a parking lot) and I have no problems controlling and recovering. Of course my last two cars were a Probe and a Escort ZX2 so it might just be my frame of reference.

No kidding. My wife's tires aren't snow tires either but they blow away the Conti's in the snow.
