I have one major objection to their formula. They state that they don't account for equipment levels. It doesn't seem fair to take the hybrid model (of any vehicle type) which often has better equipment/amenities and compare that to the base line (bare bones) model of its competition when you're looking at price.

It seems they were just lazy and didn't want to spec out all the models to make an even (apples to apples) price comparison with respect to equipment. Their formula would definitely favor the gas-only models since they are far more likely to have a bare bones model and thus a much lower price.
