Default AIT Air intake temperture sensor

I see on ebay that they have for sale a device that will allow you to adjust the signal. I don't have my SG11 yet but wondered if anyone has used one of these.

Can anyone tell me if this sensor is used for anything on a cold warm up?
If you can trick the computer to think it is warmer than it is when cold that might help.

The AIT is for sure used for cold starts and everything else too. They used to be a separate sensor but now I believe they are built into the MAF sensor.

I imagine that you could fool it but is it worth the trouble?

Thanks for the reply. That is just what I would like to know. The unit that will give the new reading is only $20.00. If I can get leaner fuel burn or quicker cold EV then it would be worth it.
