44.2 MPG on first tank! Too good to be true?

Great job! I think 44mpg is entirely possible for the FWD 08FEH.
There's an article somewhere that said Ford made the 08 a bit more FE than previous models.
Also, you said your hwy drive is typically 55-58mph...When I drive my 07 AWD MMH at 60mph, I often get ~40mpg on flat road, as seen on the NAV instantaneous FE bar. As my speed gets faster than 60mph, FE starts to nose-dive very quickly. So overall 44mpg for FWD 08 FEH is certainly very possible.
Either that or you ARE a natural hypermiler...keep up the good work, and keep us posted on your great FE!
