yeah, maybe not much to brag about around here ...but i got my first 400 mile tank today. the car just passed 3000 miles total and i think i'm on my 6th or 7th tank of gas (i lost a few receipts!).

LOL, I'll bet you'll be ecstatic when you get in after filling up and see 503 or so miles until empty on the display, which I believe started right around 3K, as I recall.

 

I too was thrilled at my first 400 mile tank. Especially after having to refill the '04 Escape V6 every 250 or so. Pretty soon though you will be blowing by 400 with 100+ on the distance to empty meter.

I am at 460 on this tank and am showing 70 or so on the DTE (and it has been getting cold here too). Have to fill up this afternoon though so I won't make 500 miles this tank - good to know I could though.

Keep practicing - it only gets better.

 

You should post the pic in the image section!! All of us newer Escape owners should do a little bragging!! I have a 2WD and made it over 450 my last tank. I'm *hoping* to get over 500 this one, especially if this spell of warm weather lasts!! I know it'll be harder for you in Michigan with winter coming, but keep up the good work!

Didn't notice the picture before - testing out the distance to empty accuracy? How much gas did it take to refill from there?

Mine usually takes 13.5 or so when I am around 25 miles to empty.

We are having anseasonably warm weather here too - after the cold, wet October we had, we deserve it. Not looking forward to watching the temperature AND the mpg's drop in the next few weeks.

fill up was about 13.8 gal...so i still had some to spare before being *completely* empty. my average for the tank came out to 29.4 i think. with the full tank my MTE jumped to 456, the highest i've seen it yet (4WD model). even with the cold weather i've been able to improve my driving habits...but the last few warm days have helped a bit.
