35 mph in ev?
Phillip, are you saying that shifting to "L" will not shut down the ICE below 40mph? This happens to me only when the computer locks up and I have to stop and stand on the brakes for about 15 seconds till the ICE shuts off. This happen to me much to often. If the ICE doesn't shut off and you coast to the preset 30-35mph cruise setting, you should still maintain that cruise setting. Sounds to me like your not setting the cruise right or your cancelling it by tapping the brake. As far as the resume button working for you, this tells me your hitting the brake also. Keep your feet away from the brake pedal after you set the cruise.
If this is not the case, please explain more. There maybe something wrong with your FEH.

. I Have to hit the brake pedal or - - ICE on and on - -
, But it generally does shut down after I do hit the brakes at below say 40 or so. I do have to say that if I remember correctly the ICE 'DID' shut down on its own below 40 when I first started using L - could be the short hops plus the cooler weather.

Gary - as always thanks for the input -
must get this thing back to the XYL (ex young lady - the wife) so she can get the FM back up (she was getting 33-34 without even using any trick except using EV and coast) - My last tank was just 24.1
(2.2 m commute) just doesn't let it work like it should at all - very little of what you love EV. Most of my drive is the ICE on to charge the bat and you know how that really runs the RPMs up and the FE down.Last edited by VietVet'67; Dec 1, 2005 at 04:47 PM.

Well, I'm glad to see someone read and liked it. Though, as far as FAQs go, that was by far, the hardest one to write that I've ever done. (Though I'll admit, watching it slide down the front page is a bit painful at times.)
Anyway, when I pitched the idea to Jason way back in September (along with an individual vehicle moderator for the hybrid subforums), I had only three sections in mind, for interested nonowners/potential buyers, for people who have it want to get more out of it, and some basics on web info.
Going about it on my own, I posted each of those sections, as seperate posts, for space reasons, to allow each section to grow as needed. (There is a character limit to a post, the whole FAQ is about twice as large as that limit) I have no plans for a section IV or beyond, but for any other questions that I may have missed to go into those existing sections, and any info I left out to go in to flesh out the FAQ, hence a version history. Though admittedly, I thought about doing a Section IV: Humor and Rumor section, with myth/rumor debunking and some hybrid humor, but in the end I dropped it.
Anywho,
I'm guessing the other driver goes for longer trips than you do? (hence the difference)
It's hard to say if there really is something the matter, or your tremendously short commute is a large factor in your FEH's refusal to go ICE off, but you're covered, and if you've got the time, you should get it checked out just to be safe.
