Default 2010 Escape Hybrid snap sound

Weird one. Randomly, usually at high freeway speeds I hear a fairly loud rap or snap sound. It sounds like someone is shooting a rock at the sheetmetal or windshield. The first couple of times I figured is was a rock, but it wasn't. I may go 100 miles without hearing it, then I may hear it 3 times in 5 minutes. It's coming from the car and isn't something from the road. Sounds like it's coming from the front right. Often there are no other vehicles around. The car has 112k miles and still runs good. Let me know if you've ever experienced this or know what it might be. Short circuit?

I get a loud snap sound occasionally from that area, I figured it's one of the blend doors getting stuck/unstuck, but it's easy to check by going from defrost to other vent settings

Seems too loud for that but possible. I'll check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.
