Recently purchased a 2009 FEH from auction, replaced the 12V battery. instrument panel reflects the wrench and triangle of death with the following Forscan codes:
P0A1F- Battery Energy Control Module Performance
P1A10- Hybrid Powertrain Control Module Battery Disabled
I am not knowledgeable enough to decipher those but can you run tests on the modules in Forscan and display the results? Eg PCM (powertrain) Module, BCM (HV battery) module? That would provide more info on things like SOC state of charge etc.....
Good evening S Keith Due to Codes P1A10 and P0A7D I truly believe the issue is the HV Battery. I have reviewed both your post regarding building a rudimentary charger 22 Sep 18 FEH (Reconditioning) and 25 Dec 16 (HV Battery Jump). If you could provide a point of clarification to a neophyte it would be greatly appreciated.
Post from 25 Dec 16 states "LPC-150-350 power supply will charge 350mA. 3-4 hours should be enough to get your pack to a state that is safe to start the ICE. For a battery that is very low, I wouldn't be concerned about as much as 12 hours of charging provided you're checking it for warmth every 30 minutes or so after the 8 hour mark. This is extremely conservative. I put in quite a bit more than that at higher currents and never felt any heat at all. To protect the power supply from the battery, you should install 2X 1N4005G diodes in the output lines. The positive lead should have the diode stripe on the battery side of the connection, and the negative lad should have the diode strip on the power supply side of the connection."
Your post on 22 Sep 18 outlines the addition of parts 709-APC35-350, a fuse holder, and only one diode on the positive output lead with the stripe on the battery side.
Anyway, if you understand that opening, tempering with or modifying a FEH/MMH battery has a risk of fatality, here's what you need to build a rudimentary charger:
To protect the power supply from the battery, you should install 2X 1N4005G diodes in the output lines.
The positive lead should have the diode stripe on the battery side of the connection, and the negative lad should have the diode strip on the power supply side of the connection.
Two Diodes One on the (+) battery side and one on the AC (-) side?
