Thanks, Lurch. That site quotes the system price as Y300,000 and was 1/4 of the price of the entire car. The map approach was reminiscent of a system we had installed in an experimental helicopter at Sikorsky in 1971, which employed a CRT projecting a film-strip map, all driven by a Litton INS. A copy of the system then flying in the A-7E. Still subject to the INS system time-dependent drift, but the pilot could do a manual update by slewing a cursor, an option that I imagine the Accord driver had as well. Far ahead of its time in the auto world!
