2006 FEH - HCU Failure?
Uh oh. So our '06 Escape Hybrid that was generously gifted to us by friends has started giving us braking issues intermittently. Today my wife drove it home and told me a loud noise was coming from under the hood with a service brake system message when she shut the car off. I was able to recreate the noise, but to get it to do it the brake needs to be depressed while turning off the car. It only seems to happen when you are pressing the brakes while turning the car off. I ran FORSCAN on and the ABS module was throwing two codes:
C1480 - Right Front Wheel Brake Pressure Control Plausibility Failure
C1478 - Left Front Wheel Brake Pressure Control Plausibility Failure
Here's a video of it:
This happened two weeks ago when my wife had the car 300 miles away, but it hadn't acted up until today, and I had been debating flushing the brake system to see if that helps. It's also worth noting it's very hot and humid today, so I'm wondering if that may have something to do with it. Anybody have any thoughts?
Thanks!

Check hoses and calipers on the front. That HCU is pumping, but is it pumping fluid or air? On my 09 I can see the pressures at each brake, that might be worth reading through forscan. Compare to each other and the back.
