Question 2005 improvements

I am considering buying a used 2005 FEH. Can anyone tell me if any significant, non-cosmetic, changes have been made to the FEH since 2005? Also, what experiences are folks having with the 2005 model versus the later models? Thanks

I dont think there have been many significant changes untill 2007 and then 2008 redux. Even then the powertrain is the same with slight differences in the PCM software in 2008. There were some options that were expanded in 06.

08 is also quieter - thicker front glass and upgraded sealing and sound package.

I have a AWD FEH model year 2005 and I am very happy with my purchase. My dislikes include the hard dashboard and armrest, lack of front overhead console with map lights, no outside temperature monitor and no sideview heated mirrors. I solved the hard armrest by applying velcro to it and placing a $10 shoulder saver bead cushioning pad. I just obtained an overhead console with map lights--order a 2004 year version, I'm going to purchase a Gentex rearview mirror that has an outside temperature monitor. I'm looking into the heated sideview mirrors. I also had a concern about little storage compartments but solved that with the addition of two front seat storage bags (about $8 each)-thule side seat storage system and a thule collapsable cargo container for the rear compartment.

I have had no mechanical issues and the vehicle has a lifetime 34 mpg average.

I did basically the same thing on my armrest & also on the frt edge of the center console. Mine already had an overhead console & heated mirrors, but Muth makes replacement heated mirrors that also have turn signal indicators in them. I have the Gentek mirror & it works super.

The file attachment shows how I improved the cushioning of the armrests.
