2005 FEH -- wrench/service soon warning

Re: 2005 FEH -- wrench/service soon warning
That would probably be in either 493A or A910 if from the TBCM. I have never seen a bit encoding list for these PIDs so it would be a lot of T&E to figure it out. I do remember seeing one of the flags being "Air flow blend door driver circuit fault"

Re: 2005 FEH -- wrench/service soon warning
Thanks Carl. I'll look into it more and post if I find out anything.
I'll be using my Escape for today only, then I'm going on a long trip without it.
So if you don't hear back soon, that's why.
I'm not getting any MIL lamps or messages, but my HV battery is staying 87-88 degrees on very cool nights with only gentle use.
Thanks,
-John

Re: 2005 FEH -- wrench/service soon warning
Hello all -
I got the yellow wrench/service engine soon warning recently on my 2006 FEH. I coded in the LOS code seen earlier in this thread into the xgauge of my scangauge II and got a LOS code of 38.4.
Any ideas what that means?
No general scan goes come up and the "system check" in the FEH dash computer doesn't register anything.
My guess is that it relates to something in the traction battery cooling system, but that's just a guess.
Thanks in advance for any help you have.

Look at post #6 by DesertDog and try setting up the "bTC" xgauge and see what it reads. Mine is reading "1", and the problem is most likely the "blend door". I'm taking it in for service this week.

Re: 2005 FEH -- wrench/service soon warning
Yep, the BTC code is 1. I think we have the same problem, econoline.
For better or worse, I bought an extended warranty that expires soon, so I plan to get this issue resolved at the dealer soon.
Thanks for the help.

At any rate I would think 99.9% chance you have the B1239 blend door DTC. Don, what does the LOS xguage display on your FEH? If you don't want to program it, just go to CMNDS and enter 22497F and hit send. My FEH returns 62497F0004000000; the number in bold is the actual data. Dover's FEH should be returning 62497F0180000000 based on the LOS xgauge reading.

Re: 2005 FEH -- wrench/service soon warning
I pinged the FEH this morning with CMND 22497F, DesertDog, and my xgauge returned 62497F0180000000 just as you had suspected.
Until I get this to the dealer, I am going to monitor BTM (traction battery temperature) and SOC and gather some data.
Thanks for your help.

BEFORE:
- Service Soon icon intermittently comes on
- bTC = 1
- LOS = 624797F4000000000
- Service Soon icon is off (so far)
- bTC = 0
- LOS = 624797F000000000
Perform diagnostics per code B1239. Replace battery pack actuator and reprogram BCM per TSB 07-25-12. Clear code and retest. Retest OK.
On a side note, I'm pretty sure my gas mileage was low by 10% while this problem was occurring, if that's possible. Or maybe just cooler weather and short trips.
Entire repair took under 2 hours. Dealership was completely dead, no customers in showroom, parts, or service departments.
