RAM Teases New Revolution Full Size EV Pickup, Vauxhall Adds GEe Performance EV Brand

A new EV pickup called “Revolution” is big news from the RAM brand, and UK’s Vauxhall GSe branding will house future performance models.

There’s only a handful of full size EV trucks on the market at the moment. Mike Koval, CEO of the RAM brand knows this. And according to an interview with MotorTrend, he’s OK with RAM being a bit late to the party. “We may not be first to market, but we’re committed to bringing the best battery electric vehicle to market in 2024 having full knowledge of what our competitors are doing,” Koval notes. And he might be right. Battery technology is moving fast. And with a company like Stellantis now able to support RAM, some of the best tech can go into their newest pickup.

The Revolution will utilize the Stellantis “STLA” global platform for body-on-frame trucks. Range is supposedly going to be around 500 miles. But, given feedback from RAM’s Real Talk Tour, the new truck will – understandably – need to perform just as good if not better than its predecessors. People are naturally reluctant to accept change, so the change to EV needs to have mostly positive attributes.

RAM is set to officially unveil the final product at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in November of this year.

Vauxhall GSe will be the badge worn by all performance Vauxhalls going into the future.

In the UK, those looking for a bit of spark with their EV will be happy to see Vauxhall has embraced the switch to electric. “GSe,” which stands for Grand Sport Electric offers “sports handling and looks combined with the performance and responsibility of electrified powertrains,” according to Acting Managing Director, James Taylor. Sporting appearance and specific chassis tuning will be the main differences behind the GSe badge. There’s no official word yet on any future plans for added power.

The move to incorporate GSe into the brand image comes from Vauxhall’s swift transition into electric power. They aim to be all-electric by 2028, which it well in advance of the UK’s regulations.
