LUXE-GT Electric Debuts Gateway Bronco’s Next-Generation Legacy EV Powertrain

LUXE-GT Electric is Gateway Bronco’s exciting new offering. This new electric off-roader made its debut at the Quail event during the Monterey Collector Car Week.

The Blue Oval Brand made quite a splash at SEMA 2021 with its 40+ custom offerings. The company does not have any plans to introduce an electric-only variant of the Bronco anytime soon. Nevertheless, Gateway Bronco‘s new LUXE-GT Electric might be exactly what you want if you’re in the market for an electric off-roader. The Electric LUXE-GT Bronco uses a custom EV powertrain from Legacy EV. The electric off-roader went on display on November 4th at the Legacy EV booth at SEMA 2021.

Gateway Bronco is based in Hamel, Illinois, and also offers other classic Ford Bronco restomods. Furthermore, the outfit is now offering different electric conversions for the classic off-roader. The company’s latest offering recently made its debut during the Monterey Collector Car Week. The new off-roader also showcases Gateway Bronco’s next-generation electric powertrain. According to the company, LUXE-GT Electric can offer more than 300 miles of driving range. Gateway Bronco also claims that its battery-only LUXE-GT Electric can hit the 60 MPH mark in just 4.7 seconds.

“In addition to offering an electric drivetrain as an alternative to our traditional internal combustion engine, our LUXE-GT Electric also features a custom and proprietary suspension developed by legendary shock innovator Jeff Ryan and motorsports legend and automotive industry pioneer, Ray Evernham,” said Gateway Bronco CEO, Seth Burgett Burgett.

He further added, “Available as an option on our vehicles, it’s the first time this racing technology has been integrated into a classic Bronco. We’re honored to work with Jeff, Ray and their team of pioneers in the shock industry to create a modern driving experience in a vintage vehicle. Gateway clients will recognize the quality of these technology infused builds, which break new ground in the classic vehicle segment.”

For LUXE-GT Electric, Gateway Bronco mates the classic body of a 1972 Ford Bronco with an all-new chassis. The EV also gets a Lithium-ion battery and a 220 kW electric motor.

Furthermore, Gateway Bronco joined forces with JRi Shocks to develop a bespoke electric ride control suspension setup for LUXE-GT Electric. As a result of this, the new suspension setup will allow customers to customize their driving experience. Moreover, the electric truck rides on 18-inch sport wheels, which get 33-inch Toyo tires. The custom 540-volt Legacy EV drivetrain is also the battery-electric equivalent of a modern-day V8 motor.

LUXE-GT Electric also happens to be the top-of-the-range model, which gets a $380,000 price tag. Gateway Bronco also offers a more affordable Fuelie Electric model, which costs $260,000 and offers 200 miles of maximum range. Gateway Bronco also uses Lithium-ion battery packs to power the all-electric drivetrains of its offerings. The battery pack also sends power to a 220 kW electric motor and gets a 7-year warranty on its drivetrain.

Gateway Bronco’s electric off-roaders also get creature comforts like power windows, air conditioning, rear backup camera, Focal Studio sound system, and much more. Furthermore, most of the cabin surfaces are flaunt genuine Porsche leather. Lastly, a 4-point roll bar ensures the safety of the passengers and sports a baseball stitch leather treatment. As a result of this, LUXE-GT Electric is one of the most luxurious electric restomods in the world.
