GMC HUMMER EV SUTs Will Electrify SEMA 2021

GMC will use HUMMER EVs to showcase almost 200 accessories at SEMA 2021. As a result, customers can use the products to customize GM’s new electric-only supertrucks.

The SEMA Show 2021 is almost here and we are preparing ourselves for the host of exciting cars that will take the center stage in Las Vegas. As it turns out, General Motors plans to lead the charge with the all-new HUMMER EV. According to a recent GMC press release, the company will showcase a wide range of accessories at the event next month with three brand new HUMMER EVs. Furthermore, the cars will highlight offerings from a new portfolio, which comprises as many as 200 products.

Moreover, all models will be the Edition 1 variants of GM’s new EV nameplate. In addition to a pair of HUMMER EV SUT, GM’s SEMA 2021 will also include a pre-production HUMMER EV SUV. The new product portfolio offers accessories for different “functional, lifestyle and aesthetic possibilities.” For this reason, visitors will get to see a HUMMER EV SUT retrofitted with a range of accessories alongside a stock version of the electric pickup.

Vice president of Global Buick and GMC- Duncan Aldred- shared his thoughts on the new range of accessories. “The all-new GMC HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV naturally lend themselves to the growing demand for personalization,” said Aldred. He further added, “Their commanding looks draw attention wherever they go, and our accessories portfolio is designed to offer customers more choices to tailor their vehicle with off-road functionality, lifestyle integration and styling enhancements.”

HUMMER EV’s virtual auxiliary switches will allow customers to use accessories like winches, off-road lighting, and much more. Attendees will also get to check out the Chip Ganassi Racing Extreme-E electric off-road racer. The design of the electric off-road race vehicle draws inspiration from the GMC HUMMER EV.

Following accessories will be part of SEMA Show’s New Products Showcase:

  • A hard Power Retractable Tonneau Cover

  • An off-road recovery kit

  • A 50-inch roof-mounted off-road light bar

  • Front off-road auxiliary lights

  • Rocker protector with integrated assist steps

  • A bold, uniquely styled bed-mounted vertical spare tire carrier

  • Sky Panel Storage Tray Set for eTrunkTM

  • Unique accessory wheel design in Tech Bronze (with Tech Bronze center cap and black lugs)

  • Under-seat organizer and I-Bar storage

  • Cargo management rails

According to a recent SEMA market research, exterior body panel sales were responsible for 16% of all aftermarket parts sales last year in the alternative power vehicle segment. Furthermore, SEMA also estimates that pickup truck personalization was the largest sector in specialty-automotive aftermarket sales, where over $40 billion were spent in 2020.
