Unhappy CVT Technical Bulletin

I noted on the CVT tranny fluid thread the issue I had with the CVT lurching and slipping after the fluid change.

My dealer told me there is a technical bulletin regarding this and is replacing the clutch pack in the tranny.

Anyone else run across this issue?

I have a 2006 with 31K miles.

Owner link will only display formal recalls. It won't advertise the existence of a service bulliten

As of my last check, Honda Canada does not yet have a bulletin for clutch replacements. Did the dealer mention which of the CVT clutches (forward/reverse)?

Also, what is your car's build date?

I'll see what I can dig up.

In another thread, Brian mentioned this was due to a new type of oil that Honda swiched to in July. Are you aware of this oil switch for the CVT, Msantos. H

Not at all Harold.

Honda formulated the HATF CVT fluid specifically for the HCH-II so it is pretty unique amount all CVT fluids. I am definitely not aware of any changes or even a need (cases or incidents) that forced them to change the initial formulation.

This is pretty weird. I'll look into this ASAP.

MSantos, check out Tranny fluid replacement interval thread in HCH 2. Brian mentioned his problem there as well. H
