Industry Pioneer

Mercedes-Benz has built a legacy on pioneering technology in the automotive industry. Let's not forget, the fact that we have automobiles is thanks to Carl Benz's invention in 1886. And with the introduction of the EQS, the manufacturer is blazing new trails and setting the standards for the future of the segment, and the future of the automotive industry as a whole.

From Concept to Reality

The Mercedes-Benz design team, with Gorden Wagner at its helm, turned a lot of heads when it unveiled a new styling strategy to distinguish its forthcoming line of electric vehicles. And a lot of what was shown in the concept car for the EQS actually made it into the production car, which is not often the case for the manufacturer.

A New Look For Luxury

The S-Class has been setting the bar of luxury for generations. And while the EQS follows that same philosophy, the EV platform eliminates the limitations of the gasoline-powered vehicles of today. It also creates opportunities for creative new layout designs. And optimizing the cabin space has given the EQS a profile that we're not used to. Though it may not adhere to the ideas of what we consider classically beautiful automotive proportions, it's very likely a glimpse at where vehicle styling is headed.

Innovative Interior

Mercedes-Benz interiors have always been the absolute best among industry rivals. And with the new EQ cabin design ideology, they've taken things to the next level. How about a dashboard that is one continuous screen? I have a gut feeling we'll be looking back at today's cars in a couple of decades thinking "I can't believe we used to have iPads sticking out of the dashboard!"

Ultimate Luxury

A number of new luxury features have made an appearance with the debuting EQS. In addition to some of the tech features introduced with the S-Class, the EQS boasts more exciting items. From the smart HVAC system to the automatic comfort doors, the new EV is packed with options to make life easier for the driver and the passengers.

Groundbreaking Technology

Aside from the new creature comforts, perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of the EQS is the available driving range. Presumably, the EQS 450+ will be the trim that is capable of the reported 478-mile range, which is a huge number even for a plug-in hybrid, let alone a full EV. The EQS marks a strong start of a new era for Mercedes-Benz and the automotive industry.
