Was wondering if you'd be willing to add a new forum when you are able to play with the site after the semester. There are numerous threads on the site about home energy conservation, and it would be nice to gather them together in one spot.

Granted its OT from the thrust of the site but is very closely aligned in the larger picture, and many of us who hypermile are of the same mindeset in our houses too. Many of us also look at green energy/green home forums too, but there's a different perspective that can be achieved looking at it from a hypermilers' standpoint.

A single forum would probably be appropriate- not too much space, but enough to 'pass on the word' about good ideas, innovations, etc amongst an already proven-friendly audience.

Perhaps a 'Hybrid Homes' forum? People that have solar power are definitely using a hybrid model.

 

Unfortunately, this is not the direction I'd like to move GreenHybrid towards. While it may be true that a significant amount of offtopic threads are started concerning general energy conservation, official encouragement of these discussions will ultimately dilute and overgeneralize the content of this website. I think it would be the most wise administrative decision to let these "home hyperwatting" conversations remain offtopic. I hope you understand.
