Default Use up the excessive charge during a long downhill

Hello,

I would like to know how can I prevent the traction battery get fully charged easily while a long downhill trip. I know that the traction battery is directly power the A/C system, I guess I can turn my A/C on while a long downhill, but is there any other way I can use up those excessive charge from the brake system? Thanks!

Shift into B. That's really the sole reason for that "gear" choice. It'll raise engine RPM, cause engine braking. You can switch back and forth between D & B if revs run up too high. If you do nothing the car's computer will invoke a bit of B anyway. But switching to B does a bit more I think.
