EV button installation
Just wondering if anyone has done the EV button modification? I am looking at buying the mod from Coastal Electronic Technologies. That website makes the mod sound simple, but is it? Anyone done this specific mod? Is it worth it?
You can also get the OEM Switch at

Coastal has a retty bad rep when it comes to their customer service.

I know the button goes in one of the black spots to the left and of the steering wheel. But I have 3 spots, one for the dash dimmer switch. One would be for the EV switch, for the Prius sold in other countries. But what is the other spot for?
1 hour, $5 in Radio Shack parts, and a drill press - super easy.

I found out what the other blank button is for. It is for the self parking button that other countries have and we in the U.S. don't.

I bought the coastal tech EV Button. It didnt work when i got, it, and they sent a new one to me at no cost wth a return pre-paid envelope. Of course i had to call 2 times to get the part.
It is an interesting button. Worth the price? Probably not. Neat toy? Yeah. Do i use it often? Rarely.
Does that help?
