Well got in the HH today and low and behold a mouse on the dash.... Now just how he got in the car I have no idea, no gaping openings I could see. Has anyone else with a Highlander had a hichhiker and found where they got in???

 

Have you checked the cabin air filter?

Yes it was full of pieces of shells and I changed it out. No idea how they got in there or where the outside air intake is.

 

The outside air intake is within the cowl assembly that runs along the firewall at the back of the engine compartment.

I understand a small mouse can enter through a 1/4" hole. If you keep the cabin air recirculation door closed when your HiHy is parked, MAYBE that will prevent mice from getting in.

I just noticed your animated avatar which is very funny! Since you own two hybrids I don't imagine you have much need for gearshifting...
