Re: We now officially only get 34 MPG
It is about time they fix the MPG estimates. I know so many people who buy a car because "it gets" a few more MPG then they drive and are upset because it gets a few MPG less than stated.
I am going through it right now with my girlfriend's parents who think there is something with their car. I keep telling them there isn't and that what they get is normal. I very RARELY take into account what the estimate is. I buy the vehicle for what it is not the mileage. (Of course right now I can afford gas....that could change at any moment.)

Hmmm. More folks will be happy they meet or exceed the EPA ratings. I wonder what the new EPA test cycle is for highway driving... I can set the cruise control for 65 mph and get 40+ mpg consistantly in California, even with the A/C going.

I cannot wait for warm weather in Ohio. Now that the car is broken in I have been able to drive around and come back home with the ECO Drive graph near full even in the cold.

Re: We now officially only get 34 MPG
I'd be worried if I was getting the new EPA or below.
My last tank was manually calculated at around 35 and that was with all the snow and cold weather. My commute is about 10 miles and I'm running snow tires at 32 psi. Terrain here is fairly hilly and I suspect being at 5500' elevation hurts fuel economy as well.

I knew the new EPA test would not hit the TCH "too hard" because I felt the car was very close on the old estimates. It dropped a little farther than I thought, but now expectations will be lowered and less "whining" will be heard - FINALLY !! Thank Gosh !!!

We're now 33 City and 34 Highway and the Prius is 48 City and 45 Highway.
