Toyota must be building inventory on hybrids

I rec'd the following email today from Toyota:
The Toyota Prius has been an unprecedented success -- so much so that at times consumer demand has outpaced dealer inventory. People like you asked Toyota to make more Prius available, and we heard your request. Toyota increased production, so now it’s easier than ever to get your Prius of choice. That’s right, no more need to wait. Just visit your local dealer and take home a Prius today. But don’t wait, because with available special offers, dealer inventory won’t last long.
It sounds like the demand for hybrids is softening, at least for Toyotas. Maybe with the tax credit dropping over time and gas prices dropping, demand just isn't as great for hybrids. Kind of ironic, with the President's State of the Union speech pushing the saving of gas. You would hope more people would want hybrids, but MOST people apparently are pretty stupid.

Reading this line yields one more reason to select the TCH instead of the Prius I'd missed before: No awkward plural issues!

I find it amazing how easy it is to train the sheep into believing that $2/gallon is cheap. All you have to do is keep gas prices above $2.50 for a while and then bring it back down to $2 and the sheep are happy. Now is the perfect time to get into a hybrid. You can bet gas prices will go back up. We are one "disaster" away...![Wink](https://electricvehicleforums.com/forums/images/smilies/emotikons/wink.gif)
Sorry a little off topic
