Toyota Auto Guard System

Toyota Auto Guard System
Hey All,
My toyota dealer offers a Toyota Auto Guard Paint Protection System for roughly $200. This includes 6 applications over 3 years. Does anyone know anything about this and if it is worth it?
I have only had the car 3 months and already seeing scratches and chips from driving on the highway.

Re: Toyota Auto Guard System
There have been some discussions here about paint chips and paint protection plans. I would recommend having the Auto Guard system done, since it is technically "inexpensive" as compared to repainting. When I bought my TCH, I was offered the Scotchguard paint protection, and it was going to cost around $700. I declined that protection for that price, but would have bought it had it been $200. I would ask the dealership what the product does and who is the manufacturer. I would also ask about the warranty of this protection.
With all that said, having six applications over three years seems a little excessive for a paint protection. Is this a true add on paint protection such as 3M Scotchguard? It almost sounds like little more than auto wax reapplications. However, I would probably still pay $200 for six different applications of wax for a three year period, as long as they did it on the whole car.
