THC Smart Key and store alarms
This I must say is a new one to me. I have a 2008 THC with the smart key. Well, just about every store I go into that has a alarm system at the front door it sets off the alarm. It gets pretty annoying and somewhat embarrassing to have happen just about all the tine. The strange thing is that it just recently started.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is it possible that there's something else new in the equation, like a new wallet or belt, that hasn't had the rfid tag deactivated?

I gave my keys to the clerk who was by the door. I reentered with no problem. She took the keys and placed them next to the store alarm and it set it off. Still using the same old wallet.

I part-time at a department store and God knows I've been to a million stores in that mall, but never did that happened to me. It's probably just an ultra sensitive alarm.

Never had such a problem. Could be new frequency allocated to store tags, FCC just had huge reallocation of frequencies done, or something is wrong with FOB. You should have 2 of them, check each one individually.
As a temporary fix see if wrapping the FOB in metal foil helps. It must be something specific to you or your location, otherwise we would have more posts on this issue.

1. When the guard stops you, tell him to either arrest you or let you go.
Do not help to figure out what set the alarm off.
2. Let them arrest you for shoplifting.
Do not resist arrest.
3. Sue them for false arrest.
4. Own the store.
5. Fire the manager.

Re: THC Smart Key and store alarms
I get that all the time with my office's key card. When the alarm goes off, I throw my hands in the air (like a police officer was behind me), give them a big smile, tell them that it is my office key and I leave. Never had a problem.
