Successful Phone Book Transfer

Successful Phone Book Transfer
Just upgraded my Blackberry from the Cingular 8700c to the new Cingular 8800 Blackberry.
The 8700c would not transfer the phone book.
The 8800 transfered with no problems.
Full readout of bluetooth status, battery level, and signal strength.
Will definitely be keeping the Blackberry 8800 for this feature.

Another reason to "Camry Fix" it! Thanks!

Re: Successful Phone Book Transfer
I got my Razr V3m to transfer, but I had to do it one-at-a-time; there was no way to transfer the whole thing at once. It took awhile, but I only had to do it once and that was that. Now whenever I get in the car and 'start' it, the Razr establishes the connection so seamlessly, I don't even think about it. It just works and works very well.

Mine also connects fine but it won't transfer anything from the phonebook. When I setup the car to do this, it waits for a transfer from the phone but I have no idea how to get the phone to transfer.

Re: Successful Phone Book Transfer
I don't know if it varies by provider (I've got Alltel), but if I remember correctly, I went into the Contacts and for each one, selected "Options." Then I went to "Share Phonebook Entry" (it's the last "option" on the list) and when I selected "HANDS FREE" (that's what the Toyota dealer named the Camry's connection), the phone started the transfer. I had to do this for each entry, so it's quite a few keypresses to get them all done. It'd be really nice if I could have just transferred everything at once, but if I can, I haven't figured out how. I only had to do it once, but if I put new entries into my Razr, I'll have to transfer them one-at-a-time.
Good luck getting yours to transfer over.

I've yet to try this, but I just took a look at my Pearl and found the Address Book Transfer option. It was under Options / Bluetooth. Do a Menu-click on HANDS FREE (or whatever your car is called) and Transfer Address Book should be listed in the resulting menu.
I'll try it in a bit...
