Default Removing the engine cover

Want to remove the cover over the engine of my '08 TCH so I can paint it. Does it just lift off or is there something else I have to do to remove it?

With all due respect (and maybe I'm espousing my ignorance, or at least showing which side of the Mason Dixon line I'm from, but...) why?

I saw another Camry on another site and the owner had painted the engine cover. I looked reallly nice. I had done this on my previous car. Since I attend a lot of car shows, its just a little extra to show off the engine compartment.

Well, I had planned to paint it white, but I'm liking the idea of blue.

In Jersey, we like our engines with that oily black sticky gunk on it. As long as the engine turns on and the wheels spin, we're cool with it.

If you can't find any tiny plugs covering hidden hold down screws, then the cover may me a snap on type. If you have a toyota dealer nearby. You might stop in the shop and ask who the toyota tech is. They usually will tell you how to remove the plastic cover.

I have called the dealer and ask who the toyota mechanic is and may I speak to him.

I have become friends with the tech here in town.
