Re: Question about EL012-06 TSB
I went to the toyota dealer before TG and still have not received the updated DVD for my loaded 2006 Sienna. I was told it is a universal DVD and it is back ordered. It's price is over $1000 and noone knows if it will be the latest DVD with all updated maps or just to have the fix ... still waiting ... ouch very expensive one, no wonder it takes forever to get one...

Has any body able to exchange their 5.1 with 6.1 from a toyota dealer with reference to this TSB. If so what did they tell to the dealer to get this and did the dealer know about this TSB and exchanged without any problem/hesitance.

Just think about it for a second. The entire NAV option which includes the Audio upgrade, Screen, DVD transport, AND the Nav DVD itself carries a MSRP if $1200. So to say the DVD update is $1000 is WRONG. He must be talking about the entire NAV system price or he is smoking something I want.

I brought my TCH in for it's first oil change a week ago. They ordered the DVD update and today (7 days later) I received the postcard that the DVD arrived.

greg:
I'm sure you know this, but make a copy of the original DVD before they replace it - they will probably need and take the original disk...
NEVER MIND - I have been away lately and wrote before catching up - I know you have already done this but still...
Let us know what the skinny is...
thanks
Jon

No navigation update costs $1000. The dealer is blowing smoke one of your bodily orifices. Nav updates are in the $200/$300 max price range.

Re: Question about EL012-06 TSB
I agree with you it should not cost that much, but the fact remains the DVD replacement under TSB EL012-06 does cost over $1000 and to be exact it costs $1026.12, believe it or not, as I verified the price with three different toyota dealerships to make sure I would receive the correct replacement...
There should be no charge for this replacement disk! The TSB you are referring to states:-
"This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicles in-service date."
There is a caveat attached to this warranty however, it states:-
"Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint."
