Default Port Installed Options

Did anyone get the PIO called bumper guard?

It's of insignificant cost, but I'm told my inbound Titanium Metallic is slated for this option.

The salesman said it's just a small strip that goes over the bumper so you don't scratch it as you load things into the trunk.

However, I saw a Yaris today that had some black plastic piece on the bumper at the exit of the trunk and I wasn't impressed. It looked to be about 2 feet in width, and about 3 inches deep and resembled the textured black plastic you'd find on a truck's step-bumper.

I sure as H-E-doubletoothpicks hope that thing isn't going to be mounted on my ride.

If anyone has this option and/or a picture, I'd love to see it.
(if it matters, my Cam is currently at the Port of Long Beach.)

I have this on my TCH; it's a clear piece of film that is very noticeable. IMO, it's not something you have to worry about in terms of ruining the look of the car.

here is a pic...
clear plastic that covers a part of the bumper at the trunk lid - if you look carefully, all you can make out is the logo...

Mine has this installed. It is clear. I don't think I'd be happy if they put a black strip on the rear of my light green car.

Funny you mention this. My titanium TCH did not have this strip initially. After getting the car back from the body shop with a new bumper I noticed this clear plastic strip on the back bumper. We had assumed it was some type of protector, but not sure. I didn't know this was an option to have installed in the port though. Interesting.

Good stuff!!

Much appreciate the response.

Yes, I looked all over and couldn't find a picture of this thing...the one you included lets me rest easy. Doesn't take away from the look...all is well.

That dam strip on the Yaris though...yeeesh.

My TCH came with the bumper guard. The TCH is white and the guard is almost invisible. It does seem to collect dust slightly more than the painted bumper.

I believe that as part of the package, there are also small clear "chip guards" attached to the bottom edge of the rear door frame. (I don't have the car here or I would check.)
