Ongoing Nav/B-tooth problems

Ongoing Nav/B-tooth problems
The saga continues. My bluetooth voice recognition has never worked worth a ****. Now the nav touch screen is out to lunch. Pushing a letter "A" might give you a "W" or might not do anything, same with the numbers.
Has anybody had this problem? The dealer has been clueless with the B-tooth so I am hesitant to bother with this nav issue.

The voice recognition requires very clear distinction in the names.
if you have names that rhyme, like "Amy" and "Jamie", you need to add in a distinction, such as "Amy Smith Car" and "Jamie Cell", otherwise the system will get confused. You also should change the cadence or some other aspect of the names. I use "Andy Cell" and "AnDREW home" to help the system. It works for me.

dialing by numbers is real tough. If you speak slowly and clearly and have distinct names, you should be okay

No, it is not clarity, or speaking. It is that the mic is too sensitive at speeds over 45 mph. The background noise is too much for the system. The dealer has gone so far as to suggest to pull over to use it, don't use thew ac(real enjoyable here in Fl). We have given up on it and haven't used it in months.
The thing now is the nav system problems. I was looking for a solution other than blowing a day at the dealer. I suppose a Garmin just might be the answer.

Concerning the A vs W touch screen problem:
Have you tried shifting from QWERTY to Alphabetical lay-out? Does it do the same (A vs W) or do other keys mess up?
If changing the layout causes other keys to mess up (i.e. the same physical location is bad), it most likely is the touch panel itself that is screwed up and most likely will need to be replaced.

Re: Ongoing Nav/B-tooth problems
Never had that problem, although I am not using the system regularly. I typically look up and speak toward the mic and speak slowly and it usually works. It's just getting warm up here, so I can't say how well it works with the AC on.

Roy — This won't help your touch-screen problem, but you mention microphone overload too. Are you aware that, in the NAV TCHs, it is possible to adjust the microphone sensitivity?

Thanks but I showed them the hidden menu and that was tried as well. No joy.
